Regular Reflections on Continuation
Howerton revealed that the cast engages in annual discussions about the show's trajectory. "We never like to have those conversations about what the future of the show is when we finish a season," he explained. "Because that's when we are like, 'Yeah, I'm done. I can't do this anymore.' It's always good to take a couple months off, and then have that conversation, like, 'Do we want to keep going?'"
This approach allows the team to assess their enthusiasm and commitment with fresh perspectives, ensuring that any decision to continue is made with genuine intent.

Still Enjoying the Ride
Despite these periodic evaluations, the cast remains enthusiastic. "We're still having such a blast working with each other," Howerton shared. "And there seems to be endless ways to explore the world through these characters. So, we have no intention of stopping anytime soon."
This enduring camaraderie and creative synergy have been pivotal in the show's longevity, making it the longest-running live-action sitcom in American television history.

Balancing Multiple Endeavors
Over the years, each cast member has pursued individual projects:
Kaitlin Olson earned an Emmy nomination for her role in HBO's Hacks and stars in ABC's High Potential.
Rob McElhenney co-created Apple TV+'s Mythic Quest and the docuseries Welcome to Wrexham with Ryan Reynolds.
Charlie Day has appeared in films like Horrible Bosses and Pacific Rim.
Glenn Howerton led NBC/Peacock's A.P. Bio and stars in Netflix's upcoming Sirens.
Danny DeVito continues his illustrious career with various projects.
These ventures showcase the cast's versatility and contribute to their dynamic performances on It's Always Sunny.

Looking Ahead
With Season 17 premiering on July 9, 2025, fans can anticipate more of The Gang's misadventures. The show's future remains bright, fueled by the cast's dedication and the endless possibilities their characters present.
